Did you know. . . .?

Rent on a two-bedroom apartment in Chatham Co as being $960 per month as of February 2017.

5 of the 8 working families whoe are on our list of approved partner families are living temporaryily with family members and friends which means that they are technically homeless.

While these families will be able to afford their Habitat mortgage payment, they are unable to afford to rent a decent place for their familes to live.

Women's Club Article

Amazing Ladies, what would you say if we told you that WE were going to build a house? We may not have the ability to build a foundation, install plumbing or put the roof on, but together, we CAN BUILD AN ENTIRE HOUSE. With the help of amazing women throughout Chatham County, we know that we can!

Women in our community are going to build an entire home in 2018. We are even going to accomplish this without a speck of dust in our hair, grout under our fingernails or even a drop of sweat in the process. BUILDING FAMILY FUTURES is the newest venture for Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity. Women are going to build an entire single family home in our community. It will be built as a result of 200, $50 per month pledges plus matching grant funds.

We are inviting you to participate in this exciting new project at any level of involvement you wish. Some may only wish to commit to the monthly financial contribution and others may choose to recruit or become part of a team of 4-5 friends or colleagues in order to participate in a variety of quarterly events in addition to their monthly pledges. While these "construction crew" teams won't necessarily be wielding hammers or power tools, they will have the opportunity to build relationships with other women in our community who desire to make a difference in the life of a deserving family.

At the Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity, we partner with low-income families to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. Ladies, you too, will be making your mark in doing this.
