More than 200 families across the country will build strength, stability and self-reliance with support from professional builders and suppliers during the month of June.

Local builders partner with Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity and three local families to build homes as part of nationwide Home Builders Blitz.

Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity broke ground with members of Home Builders Association of Greater Savannah on three new homes on Thursday, June 1 on Dancy Street, Savannah.

Three local home builders, Homes of Integrity, Beacon Builders and Matthew Johns Construction, are leading crews from at least 12 different construction companies work together to complete homes for three local families.

As part of Habitat for Humanity's Home Builders Blitz 2017, June 1st - 30th, professional homebuilders and suppliers will provide the labor, funding and materials to help more than 200 families across the U.S. build strength, stability and self-reliance through improved shelter.

"Habitat for Humanity's Home Builders Blitz is truly a testament to the willingness of local builders to invest in their communities," said Jonathan Reckford, CEO of Habitat for Humanity International. "Since 2002, professional builders have partnered with families to create positive ripple effects in neighborhoods and make everyday moments more meaningful. We are so grateful for their support."

In Savannah, the Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity and professional homebuilders will help three area families build a place they can call home.

"The HBA of Greater Savannah is honored to partner with Habitat for Humanity. They are known far and wide for their willingness to reach out and to offer a hand up to people who need help," said Candler Wilson, President of the Home Builders Association of Greater Savannah. "As a society, we have a responsibility to help others around us. We are thrilled to be able to bring our teams, our time, and our talent to this great cause. We cannot wait to put the keys of these three new houses into the hands of those families who will be moving in to their new homes. We could not make this possible without the generosity of our trade partners, business associates, vendors and others around the housing industry. We want to extend our appreciation to them."
